About

Terrence Kava, PhD (c)

Imagined with Ai with prompts by Terrence Kava

I am a Marriage Family Therapist with two Master’s degrees in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University and Spiritual Psychology from University of Santa Monica.

I also have a Certificate as an Alcohol Drug Counselor and I am a PhD candidate in Clinical Psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute. I have helped individuals find their strength and confidence, while empowering them to take control of their lives. I support families, couples, individuals and groups with compassion and an authentic spirit.

My orientation is integrative, and I ground myself in a Humanistic and Depth-Psychodynamic approach. I am also passionate in promoting alternative paths to wellness by using expressive arts and mindfulness practices. These have enriched my capacity to deeply understand the somatic connection with the mind, body, and spirit.

I have experience in treating individuals with Complex Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, Grief and Loss, Alcohol and Substance Addiction, Intimacy, Spiritual Emergency, Relationship Concerns, and Mid-life Challenges.

In my spare time, I appreciate walking in nature, bicycling, fitness, reading, writing, acting, watching films and documentaries, especially foreign and independent art house films, traveling, participating in spiritually oriented events and retreats, meditating, being of service in my community, and spending time with my family.
